I have been gradually ticking off the To Do List, and I just
have one or two more things to do—those that didn’t make the Official List.
My girls—2 dogs and 3 cats—have been sticking close these
last few days even though they are staying home with someone they love and who
loves them!
The waiting part gets tedious. I know I won’t sleep well this evening
because I know I have to get up and get going early. My lovely nephew will be meeting me at the
airport in New York where I have a four-hour layover. He is a flight attendant for Jet Blue and is
based at JFK.
I am a little annoyed with American Airlines not marking me
as TSA Pre on my boarding pass. I know
that TSA Pre is a program for which you can apply; however, I received TSA Pre
without asking on both Southwest and United when I flew this past winter. We will see what happens when I check in at
the airport in the morning. I have not
flown American in a lonnnnng time, so this experience will determine some of my
future flying choices. Another thing I
don’t like so far is that American has stopped selling Duty Free items on its
international flights. Even if I didn’t
buy anything, I enjoyed browsing the Duty Free Catalogs while crossing the
pond.
One is always in need of distractions on those long flights,
so I have loaded my iPad with magazines and books. I have music and a couple of audiobooks on my
iPhone. I don’t really look at magazines
much—unless I am at the dentist’s, the hair stylist’s, or the pedicurist’s—but
I am having some attention span issues these days, so magazines may be the
go-to items this trip.
Adventure begins early tomorrow morning. Next post from Paris.
